Young Adult Programs (updated February 7, 2007)

ONPC Young Adult Program:

The weekend of Feb 10-12 SSVP met in Hamilton with over 300 Catholic Youth Ministers (CYM) from across Canada. Our purpose was to assist CYM to know our Society of Saint Vincent de Paul (SSVP) even better, and encourage their young people to seek out SSVP as an organization to put their faith into action.

Representing SSVP were: John O'Flynn, National Youth Coordinator; Nick Volk, President Ontario Regional Council (ONPC); Carmela Addante, ONPC VP Young Adult Program. All spoke at the banquet dinner to a very positive response.

An information booth was set up in the Exhibit Hall by Steve Brent, President of Halton Particular Council; Carmela Addante; Nick Volk; and Renz Mostacci, ONPC VP Special Works. It was personned by Barry Purvis, President of Hamilton Particular Council; Nick DiTomaso, Vice President, Hamilton Particular Council; and Xenia Futo from Marillac Place which is a Special Works Conference of the Society of Saint Vincent de Paul (Kitchener Particular Council)..

Over 45 persons signed up for follow-up information to engage their young people in our activities. We will be replying to them, copying you and forwarding the contacts to each of you for follow-up in your area. (Youth Ministers = Diocesan, Parish, University Campus Ministers, Student Reps, high school chaplains, counselors, etc.)
